Attorney David Liu Visits the Orange County Sheriff’s Department (AOCDS) and Donates $5,000 to Support Law Enforcement Heroes

On the morning of May 21, 2026, David Liu, a candidate for California’s 49th Assembly District and a prominent Chinese-American attorney, paid a formal visit to the Association of Orange County Deputy Sheriffs (AOCDS). The visit was made with the strong recommendation and accompaniment of State Assemblymember Philip Chen, incumbent for California’s 59th District.

This visit served as both an in-depth cultural exchange between law enforcement and the community and further proof of Attorney Liu’s commitment to his core philosophy of “obeying laws and regulations and putting down roots.”

A Visit to the Police Museum: Honoring Dedication, Courage, and Sacrifice

The AOCDS has long been committed to supporting and assisting the brave men and women of law enforcement who have lost their lives in the line of duty, honoring their dedication, courage, and spirit of sacrifice. During the visit, Mr. Juan Viramontes, Chairman of the AOCDS, extended a warm welcome to Attorney Liu and Assemblymember Philip Chen.

Under the personal guidance and detailed explanation of President Juan Viramontes, Attorney Liu and the delegation toured the police museum within the association. The exhibition hall features countless precious historical photographs, police equipment, and deeply moving stories of heroism. Every weathered piece of police equipment and every photograph of an officer who made the ultimate sacrifice tells the story of the personal sacrifices American law enforcement officers have made to protect their communities.

Attorney Liu was deeply moved during the tour. He said: “Every day, police officers risk their lives to maintain public order and protect the safety of our communities; they are the strongest support for each and every one of us.” Whether on the front lines of fighting crime or maintaining public order, they have made tremendous sacrifices. This museum reveals the steel backbone behind America's prosperity.

A $5,000 On-the-Spot Donation: Putting 'Law and Order' into Action

To express his heartfelt respect for law enforcement, Attorney Liu generously donated $5,000 on the spot to the AOCDS-affiliated "Foundation for Families of Police Officers Injured or Killed in the Line of Duty."

Attorney Liu stated: “Although this $5,000 is a modest sum, it represents my unwavering commitment to ‘law and order’ as an American taxpayer and citizen. The families of our heroes need our care and support more than ever.”

Following the event, President Juan Viramontes formally presented Attorney Liu with a certificate of honor and a commemorative medal in recognition of his support for law enforcement. He then posed for a commemorative photo with Assemblymember Philip Chen.

A Call to the Asian American Community

As an Asian American, Attorney Liu made a solemn appeal for the broader Asian American community to take collective action and build strong communication and cooperative relationships with local police departments:

  1. Participate more in fundraising activities to provide tangible assistance to police officers who have been injured or killed in the line of duty and their families.

  2. Serve as active volunteers in community patrols and neighborhood watch programs.

  3. Educate the next generation by instilling in children from a young age a respect for law enforcement officers and the value that "law-abiding behavior is honorable."

Attorney Liu emphasized, “The Asian American community is an integral part of California. When we come to the United States, we must not only ‘obey the law,’ but also ‘put down roots,’ actively give back to society, and support the heroes who protect our safety.”

He added: “From the ‘Journey of Faith’ patriotic rally I led in Washington, D.C., on May 17, to standing here today before the AOCDS Wall of Heroes, my dictionary contains nothing but absolute loyalty to the United States and to California!”

Attorney Liu vowed to continue putting his campaign platform — “No Crime” — into practice with an iron fist and concrete action.

Fight for Freedom! Fight for Justice! Fight for California! Only through unity and joint efforts between the police and the community can we build a truly safe and prosperous New California!
