We Debate. You Decide.

My fellow residents, small business owners, and neighbors across District 49: I’m Long David Liu.

Every single day, you wake up, work hard, pay your taxes, and play by the rules. But look at what’s happening around us. Our streets are getting less safe. Our small businesses are struggling just to keep their doors open. Our families are being shut out of decisions that belong to parents—not Sacramento. And our elections still ask honest citizens to trust a system that refuses basic voter ID.

Mike Fong, as our Assemblymember, you have represented this district for years. CalMatters already gave you a title the rest of California now knows: California’s Yes Man—the only lawmaker in the entire Legislature who has never said “no” to a bill. Leadership is not a green button. Leadership is answering to the people who put you there.

Our community deserves real solutions and real accountability on the votes that matter:

No Crime. Why rubber-stamp measures like SB 94, which opens the door to recall and resentencing for life-without-parole cases—while families in District 49 are still waiting for streets that feel safe?

No Indoctrination. Why say yes to AB 1955, the law that keeps parents in the dark when schools hide a child’s gender identity? Parents—not bureaucrats—raise our children.

Support Voter ID. Why keep saying yes to a system that treats voter identification as optional, when one ID is required to cash a check, board a plane, or pick up a prescription?

So today, I am publicly challenging you, Assemblymember Fong, to a live, open debate.

No rehearsed talking points. No backroom politics. Just you and me, standing before the voters of District 49. You choose the time. You choose the neutral venue. You help set the rules. And we put these questions on the table: your record as Sacramento’s Yes Man, SB 94, AB 1955, and voter ID.

If you believe that record stands up to scrutiny—if you respect the hard-working taxpayers of this district—step up to the stage and defend it.

What do you say?
